Former Pakistani military ruler retired General Pervez Musharraf has submitted nomination papers from the National Assembly constituency NA-A to the north-western district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Former President’s leaders and all-Pakistan Muslim League (APML) leaders have submitted nomination papers to the relevant Returning Officer in Chitral on Monday. APM District President Sultan Wazir said that Pervez Musharraf will return home soon and address a rally in Chitral. Musharraf also filed nomination papers for contesting the election of the National Assembly from 2013 in 2013 but was declared as disqualified. His party then declared boycott of the general election. Despite this, a candidate of his party was able to win the National Assembly constituency NA 32 and one candidate from the Provincial Assembly constituency PK-90.

Earlier today, the Supreme Court Chief Justice, Justice Saqib Nisar has also ordered Pervez Musharraf’s national identity card and passport to return to the country. They are in Dubai since 2016. They went to Dubai for treatment to avoid the treason case against them and did not return home. The Chief Justice has given this order on the occasion of the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra), an overview of Usman Mobin’s full bench. He was in court for another case. When the Chief Justice asked him why he had come, he said that although the court has allowed former President Pervez Musharraf to submit a nomination nomination but they will not be able to do this because they have their national identity card and passport blocks. Nadra and architectural public immigration and passports had blocked the National Identity Card and Passport of the former military president on the directives of the Ministry of Interior. The Ministry of Interior has directed both departments to block national identity card and passport by implementing the special court order to hear the treason case against Pervez Musharraf.

Chief Justice ordered Pervez Musharraf to block identification card and passport on Usman Mobin’s Oral application and reiterating one of his earlier orders, the former military ruler should not be arrested on the way until the Supreme Court is present in the Supreme Court. They have also issued an order that a special tribunal will be formed in two days for the pending trial against Pervez Musharraf.

Remember that the Peshawar High Court in April 2013 disclosed Pervez Musharraf for a lifetime in the light of the judgment of July 31, 2009. The court had declared Pervez Musharraf’s suspension of emergency and constitution suspended in the country on November 3, 2007 illegally. After their disqualification, the nomination papers submitted to contest the election of National Assembly constituency NAA 250 were also rejected by the concerned Returning Officer.
