The law ministry has issued a notification to appoint Justice Gulzar Ahmed as the Chief Justice of Pakistan. In this regard, the notification states that the President has appointed Justice Gulzar, the highest judge of the Supreme Court, to be Chief Justice of Pakistan and will be applicable from December 21, 2019. Justice Gulzar Ahmed will take over after the retirement of current Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa. The current Chief Justice will retire from his office on December 20, after which Justice Gulzar Ahmed will take oath as Chief Justice of Pakistan on August 21. It is to be noted that on November 22, the Law Ministry sent a summary of Prime Minister Imran Khan to nominate Justice Gulzar Ahmed as the new Chief Justice of Pakistan. According to Justice Gulzar Ahmed, according to the Supreme Court website, he was born on February 2, 1957, in the house of prominent lawyer Mohammad Noor in Karachi, and he graduated from Government National College Karachi. He then received his LLB degree from SM Law College in Karachi to enter the advocacy field.

He was subsequently registered as an advocate on January 18, 1986 and then enrolled as an Advocate of the High Court on April 4, 1988, after which he became the Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan on September 15, 2001. In addition, Justice Gulzar Ahmed was elected Honorary Secretary of the Sindh High Court Bar Association for the year 2000-1999. In addition, Justice Gulzar Ahmed became the Judge of the Sindh High Court on August 27, 2002 and the Judge of the Supreme Court on November 16, 2011. And you are currently serving as Senior Judge of the Supreme Court. In addition, during the absence of the present Chief Justice in the country, Justice Gulzar Ahmed has performed the duties of acting Chief Justice of Pakistan several times.
