A contact lens has been developed in Japan to help keep the eyes from dampness by constantly removing moisture and there is no need for eye drops. Thousands of people in the world suffer from an eye disorder that results in loss of moisture from the eyes and frequent eye drops due to dry eyes. But now modern contact lenses have been made to keep the eyes moist, which constantly protects the eyes from dryness and there is no need to repeatedly drop eye drops. Wearing a traditional contact lenses completely cover the eyelashes with a piece of plastic. We apply moisture to the eyes during each eye-blinking process, but due to the lenses, the round eye loses moisture. This is why women and women wearing contact lenses complain of itching, irritation and anxiety shortly afterwards. However, its duration may vary among different individuals.

Professor Matsuhiko Nishizawa from Tohoku University, Japan, created a modern contact lens to solve this problem which periodically removes the moisture between the lens and your eye. This humidity is formed by electroosmotic flow (EOF). Light emission of liquid begins when electricity is charged to a charged surface in an EOF. The lens has a hydrogel mounted on it, which allows moisture to flow through the gums that naturally moisten the eye when giving a current. These glands are present in the upper eyelid corner of the eye. Inside this lens is a lightweight biomaterial battery made of magnesium-oxygen and enzymatic fructose-oxygen. It is small enough to be placed inside the eye. Currently it is manually turned on or off but there is no day off when the flow of liquid into the lens can be controlled wirelessly. On the other hand, work will also be done to make the lens more durable and less voltage efficient. After this invention, further use of the lenses is not only eliminated, but the next step will be to look at the method of removing the eye ointment or the drug through contact lenses.
