Islamabad Special Court has reserved the verdict of serious treason case against former President General (retd) Pervez Musharraf till November 28. According to details, a three-member bench headed by Justice Waqar Seth, chief justice of the Peshawar High Court and the special court chief, was heard in the treason case against former president Pervez Musharraf. According to sources, during the hearing, no one appeared before the prosecution and the government nor did Pervez Musharraf’s lawyer appear. During the hearing, Justice Waqar Seth questioned why the new prosecutor was not hired, giving Gen. Pervez Musharraf’s lawyer three chances, why did he not come? A 30-minute interval was taken when no one was present in the court, after which the court said the decision of the case had been reserved which will be heard on November 28. It is pertinent to note that a significant progress was made at the last hearing of the case when the federal government dissolved the prosecution team. The prosecutor’s chief resigned in June last year. The PML-N government launched a serious treason case against former president-general Pervez Musharraf, in this regard; the case was filed in November 2013. There have been more than 100 hearings in the case so far, during which 4 judges have changed.
