The election campaign for the upcoming parliamentary elections in Iran has begun. The Election Commission of Iran said in a statement that the election campaign for eligible candidates participating in the election began on Thursday and will end on February 20. Voting will be held nationwide on February 21 for the 11th round of the Iranian parliament (the Shura Islamic Council), with more than 7,000 candidates in the fray. After examining the nomination papers of all the candidates, the number of eligible candidates is more than 7,000, said Abbas Kadkhodaei, spokesman for the Constitutional Caretaker Council.
