Global tourism organizations have predicted that the Coronavirus will reduce the number of tourists worldwide by 20% to 30% this year by 2020. Media reports said the tourism sector is expected to lose $ 300 to $ 450 billion, according to a UN special agency statement in this regard. This amount constitutes one-third of the sector’s total revenue in 2019. Last year, gross revenue was $ 15 trillion. According to the agency’s secretary-general Zorap Polokikashvili, the tourism sector is among the economic sectors most affected by the Coronavirus. The jobs of millions of people in this sector are at risk. The agency anticipated earlier this year that the global tourism sector would see a growth of 3 percent to 4 percent. However, due to the rapid spread of the Corona virus, the agency changed its position, saying that the sector is expected to decline from 1 percent to 3 percent this year.
