Giving briefing on the visit of the Chinese President, Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale said that during the two-day visit, the two leaders talked for about 5.30 hours one-on-one. He said that various issues including trade, investment and terrorism were discussed during the talks.

Vijay Gokhale said China and India have agreed to develop a new method called Chennai Connect to give new direction to bilateral trade and investment. He said that a high level committee was agreed to be jointly chaired by the Finance Minister of India and the Vice President of China. Under this new project, India and China will make joint efforts to balance bilateral trade and reduce trade deficit.
