The number of foreigners coming to Japan in May recorded a record for this month. According to Japan’s National Tourism Institute, more than 2.6 million foreigners came to Japan in May. It has increased by more than 16% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year. The number of individual tourists coming from China is increasing, the agency officials said. In May, new flights were started between Japan and South Korea. The number of foreigners coming to Japan was linked to the mainland of China. Their number was around 668,600, which increased more than 29% over the year’s year. South Korea was the second highest number, with more than 14% increase of 640,400.

The total number of foreigners coming from Japan to January 13 to May was approximately 13,194,400. Throughout the year, it has more than 15% increases, and has a record of this period.
