Former Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif’s overseas treatment arrangements have been completed, sources said, likely to visit London on Sunday. Sources say a panel of doctors has been set up at Harley Street Clinic in London. Nawaz Sharif’s treatment will begin as soon as he arrives in London. According to sources, Hasan Nawaz, son of the former prime minister, met with doctors in London and informed his father about the latest medical reports. In addition, initial consultation with heart and kidney specialists has been completed.

Meanwhile, the government has decided to remove Nawaz Sharif from the Exit Control List (ECL). A letter to the Federal Cabinet will be written to remove the ECL. After approval of the cabinet, Nawaz Sharif’s name will be removed from the ECL after which the former prime minister may leave. The Home Ministry received a request to remove the former Prime Minister’s name from the ECL, stating that Nawaz Sharif wants to leave the country for treatment. According to sources, Shahbaz Sharif has also given up all the engagements, he is also likely to depart abroad, and family celebrated Nawaz Sharif on going abroad for treatment.

It is to be noted that the former Medical Board of Services Hospital had stated that Nawaz Sharif should have more than 50,000 platelets for travel, at present, Nawaz Sharif’s platelets are less than 30,000; even discontinuing heart medicines can make traveling difficult. The former medical board had proposed a genetic test to Nawaz Sharif, which could be done not just in Pakistan but abroad. Ministry of Interior confirms that Shahbaz Sharif’s request has been received; citing Nawaz Sharif’s health malady and the ECL has been requested to be removed for treatment abroad. The Interior Ministry has forwarded the matter to NAB.

According to sources, a request has also been made by the Sharif family to the NAB in which a report has been made to the Medical Board of Sharif Medical City Lahore. Interior Ministry officials said that necessary steps were taken in time to take into account the sensitive nature of the request. The Ministry of the Interior will put its recommendation before the competent authority. According to sources, Nawaz Sharif is expected to depart London between Sunday and Monday night. Air ambulances have been developed keeping in view their health. Private air ambulance will arrive in Pakistan on Sunday evening, November 10. According to sources, Nawaz Sharif has been booked from four different airlines. Shahbaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz’s son will accompany, while Nawaz Sharif’s personal physician Dr Adnan will be accompanied. The final departure plan will be final upon departure from the ECL.
