The UK and the European Union agreed to accelerate the negotiations, calling the Brexit Treaty Summit a constructive one. According to a foreign news agency ‘AFP’ report, following a scheduled meeting between French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, European Union states will review the progress in negotiations for the Brexit deal from October 14. The talks took place between British Brexit Minister Stephen Barclay and EU negotiator Michel Barnier at the EU headquarters in Brussels. The European Commission said in a statement after the talks that the EU and Britain have agreed to accelerate talks in the coming days. The Commission will once again seek feedback from the European Parliament and Member States to allow the EU Summit to set the agenda, the statement said.

It is believed that a team led by Michel Barnier has been in talks for a long time on technical matters with the UK. But there has been no progress on the deal being resolved, leading to concerns that the Brexit agreement will not be reached until October 31. The meeting was considered constructive by the British minister and EU representative; officials said that all the Member States’ ambassadors have been allowed to negotiate as much as possible for a possible draft. He said the situation could be clearer on the Brexit deal in the days to come, or at least the reasons for the UK’s separation from the union.

A European Union official said the commission would decide what would possibly happen because it was a good opportunity, however, the two sides did not comment on what happened in the negotiations. Diplomatic sources told the news agency that the less we talk about the occasion, the better, if things start to come out, it means the matter is not serious. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is facing serious difficulties regarding the Brexit deal where a parliament was legislated to stop his plan, the same court also declared his decision to suspend Parliament illegal. Boris Johnson was elected Prime Minister of Britain this July following Theresa May’s resignation and they claimed that they would sign a separation agreement with the EU before the October 31 deadline, but they are still failing. British Prime Minister Brexit as well as Northern Ireland border issues on the other side similarly, the legality of Britain-administered Ireland after Brexit has to be dealt with.
