Addis Ababa … News Time

The African country of Ethiopia has called on the international community to intervene in resolving the border dispute with Sudan. A statement issued by the Foreign Ministry said that Sudan, despite being the head of the East African bloc, has occupied Ethiopian territory and forced its citizens to flee, putting regional peace and security at serious risk. The statement called on the international community to put pressure on the Khartoum government to withdraw Sudanese-backed militias from Ethiopian territory. The statement added that Sudan entered the territory at a time when Ethiopia was conducting a security operation against northern rebels. We do not want a conflict with Sudan and are ready to resolve border issues diplomatically. It should be noted that the Khartoum government had announced in its statement on December 29, 2020 that it would take back the land occupied by Ethiopian militias for 20 years.
