Yesterday, three members of the Senate were sworn in as members of Congress by the Democratic Party, marking the first time in 10 years that Democrats have dominated Congress. Georgia Democrats Raphael Warnock and California’s Jon Ossoff were sworn in in the Senate hours after President Joe Biden was sworn in. Notably, Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff won two surprise re-election victories on January 5. The Senate was divided between Republicans and Democrats in 50 seats. After the election of Vice President Kamala Harris, both parties had equal representation and only one vote could be decisive.
