Partners from Arab countries, including the Allied countries China and Japan, have expressed their desire to invest in Pakistan Steel Mills. According to details, sources said that the government has removed Pakistan Steel Mills from the list of privatization. Sources say Privatization says investing partner is looking for Rs 100 million daily losses of Steel Mills. Partners from Arab countries, including China and Japan, have expressed interest. Sources in the privatization ministry say the partner will not be given ownership of the land for Steel Mills. The land owned by the Sindh government will not be used for any other purpose. Reinstatement of Pakistan Steel Mills is the government’s top priority, according to the Prime Minister’s Ministry of Privatization. The agreement will set forth the principles of banks’ loans, employee employment and profit sharing. Sources in the Ministry of Privatization added that all this process will be completed by 2020.

On the other hand, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that Pakistan is a safe country for foreign investment and will provide all possible facilities to Japanese investors. According to details, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi met with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) President Shinichi Kitaoka in the Foreign Ministry. The meeting agreed to further enhance trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. On the occasion, the Foreign Minister was briefed by the President of JICA on cooperation in various sectors of the organizationmeanwhile; Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi briefed the President of JICA about new opportunities for trade and investment between Pakistan and Japan. External Affairs Minister praised JICA for cooperating with Pakistan in the fields of education and human development that Jayka’s contribution to education and other human development sectors is commendable and our country wants to extend this cooperation to other sectors including technology.  Shah Mahmood Qureshi also said that other areas with JICA are seeking further cooperation, especially in technology and other matters, and in this regard JICA is cooperating in education, health, human and social development in Afghanistan and other areas adjacent to Afghanistan. Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi added that Pakistan is a safe country for foreign investment and welcomes Japanese investors to invest in Pakistan. And we will provide all possible facilities to Japanese investors.
