London … News Time

The ruling Tory party has won an unexpected majority in the most important elections in British history, and the pre-election poll has been proven wrong. While the nearest allied Labor Party has lost its seat and lost 59 seats while the Liberal Democrats also showed no performance and their leader, Joe Swinson, lost his seat. Opposition has been wiped out from Parliament, but the Scottish National Party, the second referendum supporter for separation from Britain, has eliminated all three major parties from Scotland. It has won 48 seats. The Liberal Democrats lost one set and now have only 13 seats. The number of Pakistani-born members in these elections has risen to 15, before that there was a record of 12 Pakistani-born MPs. 10 are elected by the Labor Party and 5 by the Tory Party. The Labor Party ranks second in the parliament with 203 seats, while the Tory party has increased its 47 seats to 365 whereas, 326 seats are required for any party to form a government. The two seats in the DUP have been reduced to eight while the Green Party has been able to defend one of its seats.

Following his success, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has pledged that he will expel Britain from Europe by January 31, 2020, as he has now been given a clear mandate by the public in this regard. Now, but not left and right, Brexit’s process will be completed immediately, while Labor leader Jeremy Corbyn refuses to leave the party leadership immediately, calling the election a tragic one. He has said that he will not leave the field and will not leave the party alone. He said that when the party selects its new leader, he will leave the leadership; however, he did not say when that would happen. He said he would also contest the upcoming elections in his seat. He said he did what he could but did not succeed, while Nicola Sturgeon, the head of the Scottish National Party, said after his success that the people of Scotland have ruled against Brexit and in favor of another referendum to exclude the UK. So the Westminster Government has to respect the voice of the people of Scotland while the Lib Dem leader Jo Swinson said she tried to stop Brexit until the very end. She knows that Brexit is not right, so she is not sitting hand in hand. All she can say is that she tried in that regard and added her voice to the anti-Brexit voices. However, Nigel Farage, the failed leader of the Brexit party, said he had accomplished his goal by defeating the Labor Party. If they did not stand for the Brexit party candidates, the Tory party would not win a majority.

In the current election, large towers of Tory, Labor and Liberal Democrats have been overturned. Several notable leaders, including Jemima Khan’s brother Zac Goldsmith, have lost their seats. Although Boris Johnson’s party has received such a huge majority for the first time since 1987, analysts say however, this has also increased their responsibilities many times and now they have to carefully follow their program regarding Brexit. On the other hand, the number of Pakistani-born parliamentarians has increased in the general elections and now their number has increased to 15. The majority of them are members who have been elected twice or third, for the fourth time. Of them, 10 belong to the Labor Party and 5 to the Tory Party, Pakistan-born candidates standing on Labor, Democrats and other party tickets could not win. Senior Pakistan-born British politician Khalid Mehmood was elected a member of the Birmingham constituency for the sixth consecutive time. He belongs to the Labor Party.
