A joint declaration of the United States and Europe on the Afghan peace process in Belgium’s capital Brussels has been issued, calling for an end to the war. According to details, the joint declaration of US and Europe was issued after the important meeting in Brussels, European Union and US Special Representatives attended the meeting. Representatives from France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Norway and the UN also attended the meeting, according to a foreign news agency which discussed the current situation in Afghanistan and the future course of action. The statement said that the Afghan people’s demand for enduring peace and the end of the war should be acknowledged, Afghanistan’s case should be reviewed again, and the Afghanistan issue must be resolved through political efforts. The meeting expressed its commitment to work closely with all sides for a peace deal, and urged all sides to take steps to end violent incidents. According to the statement, the Afghan community welcomes the efforts of the international community, Respect for all Afghans for peace deal should be respected, and Afghan government should team up with Taliban to negotiate. The meeting also called for a ceasefire in Afghanistan during the talks, a peace agreement that protects the rights of all Afghans, congratulations to Qatar and Germany for holding the Intra-Afghan Peace Summit.

On the other hand, the US Special Envoy for Afghan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzada has once again begun to make peace in Afghanistan. He will visit Belgium, France and Russia soon. According to the US Department of State, US special envoy Khalilzad is visiting Brussels, Paris and Moscow to review peace efforts in Afghanistan. During the visit, US diplomats will meet with EU, NATO and UN officials the possibility of accelerating efforts for peace in Afghanistan will be evaluated.

Zalmay Khalilzad also met with NATO officials during a visit to NATO headquarters in Brussels on Monday. US Ambassador to NATO Bailey Hutchison said Khalilzad had given a briefing on the current situation in Afghanistan. He said that a coherent and detailed discussion with NATO allies on the Resolute Support Mission for a stable and peaceful Afghanistan is essential. Zalmay Khalilzad also met with other military officials, including Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark A. Milley, in Washington last week before launching new peacekeeping efforts in Afghanistan. In a tweet after the meeting, Khalilzad said that during the meeting with the US military leadership, a political solution to the Afghan conflict has been agreed to protect the US from the dangers of terrorism.
